Village description

Prehistoric marks are on its territory, as for the three nuraghi of Tolinu, with bastion and tower, and of Mamusi and Irididdo, the last one having a central and two lateral towers. Another remarkable monument is the menhir of Taleri, more than three meters high. Two old churches are in the village: the church of Santa Croce, datable to 1500 thanks to an inscription, and that of Madonna di Itria, of 1623. For this saint the day of Pentecost villagers traditionally celebrate a horse riding where riders gallop around the sanctuary. The popular belief talks about a village divided into many quarters, where each quarter would participate to the competition, trying to catch the drape leading the race in order to be the leader the following year.
