Programme
The journey winds along a trail chosen to be executed on horseback in the superb scenery of the Orgosolo countryside.
After having eaten a frugal breakfast, we depart from the Equiturs centre at Locoe (300 metres above sea level), riding along an old mule track used by shepherds for seasonal migration.
We reach high pastures (1100 metres above sea level) and stop for lunch. We then begin to discover the superb scenery of Supramonte di Orgosolo. In particular, we arrive at the Montes plateau and visit the most interesting sites in the area: Funtana Bona, Monte Fumai, Monte Novo S. Giovanni (1300 metres above sea level), Coneai, Sos Pisanos, etc.
The whole trail is done at approximately 1000 metres and is best done during the spring and summer in good weather conditions.
Dinner is eaten at an old Supramonte sheep farm, where we stay overnight. In the morning, the horseback excursion of the area continues using the horse trail, stopping for lunch in Supramonte or at a nearby stop.
The journey will conclude with a final dinner at the Equiturs centre.
