CURRENT ITINERARY

We leave the Equiturs centre in the Orgosolo area and proceed towards Oliena, descending into the Locoe valley. We enter the village where we have a quick break.

We ride up Monte Corrasi, following the steep incline of Monte Maccione until we reach the Maccione farm accommodation, which is surrounded by thick live oak forests. We stop here for lunch and this is the end of the journey.

"Oliena is a large village in the midst of olive trees on granite ground that is irrigated by many springs. The village takes its name from the production of oil as olive trees are cultivated successfully, both from the abundance of wild olives that rise up in the surrounding areas and now also that almost all the trees have been grafted, these have also become very productive. In the areas surrounding Oliena, bees are also nurtured successfully, so much so that it is one of places on the island that produces the greatest quantities of wax and honey.[...]"
