Different types of horse trails are organised throughout the year, especially from April to October:
- tourist trails around Lake Gusana lasting from one hour to three hours. The Centre offers them on a daily basis.;
- weekend horse trekking for a full day or two days organised by the centre and on the request of horse-loving tourists, going to Gennargentu or to the areas of Desulo and Aritzo;
- horse riding tours lasting for two or more days, which are done annually and require accurate organisation, planning and preparation of the route, resting points and logistical assistance, as well as publicity of the event.
The most important annual occasions, which are organised in collaboration with other Associations such as Sardinna e Caddos, Cavalieri Baunei or with public organisations and mountain communities, are:
Ballu Tundu a Caddu
Passing through the n° 9 Nuorese mountain community, with a circular tour between the Gennargentu and Supramonte, discovering local traditions that are immersed in nature and the hospitality of the Barbagia people. A journey with a series of stops in sites of historical and archaeological interest, offering unique food and wine associated with Barbaricina hospitality and linking the whole of Barbagia in a single horse trail, which is still not a well known place in terms of mass tourism.
Mares e Montes
Covers three or four days on horseback from the sea to the mountains. Starting from the sea and the relaxing Sardinian beaches, we come to the striking mountain scenery of inner Sardinia.
On horseback in Gennargentu
2-day excursion from Lake Gusana to the summit above Desulo until arriving at well-equipped stopping points in the borough of Fonni.
From Barbagia to Ogliastra
3-day treks that from the mountains reach the sea.
From Barbagia of Ollollai to Barbagia of Seulo
3-day journey leaving from Lake Gusana and passing through the areas of Ovodda, Belvì and Aritzo before arriving at Giara di Gestori.
Ogliastrina Ride
Event organised in collaboration with the Baunei Riders Association. 2-day trek in the Baunei Supramonte. Starting from the Golgo plateau, towards Codula di Sisine, a deep chalk canyon, before arriving at the sea.
Trekking Settefratelli
Event organised in collaboration with the Sarrabus Agritourism Centre that takes place in October and March. 2- or 3-day journey in the Monti dei Settefratelli leaving from the Costa Rei beaches and passing the areas of Muravera, Castiadas, Burcei and Sinnai.
